I’ve had this lens for over 5 years now, and it remains one of my most used lenses for Sony full frame. It’s small enough to carry everywhere, and at f\/1.8, it’s more than fast enough for almost any situation. The Sony FE 35mm f\/1.8 weighs just 280 grams, which is pretty lightweight for a full frame lens. It’s a mere 71mm or 2.8 inches in length, so it’s not a beast to carry around. Sony also produces their own standard f\/1.8 version of the 35mm prime lens specifically aimed at balancing quality and cost. Compared to the 35mm f\/1.4 GM, this f\/1.8 model trades off some speed for a lighter, more affordable lens while maintaining excellent sharpness and autofocus performance. This lens excels as a walkaround option where you need reliable performance without the bulk. The Sony 35mm f1.8 is the best balance of so many worlds. While it’s not anything really unique, it’s still an overall incredibly useful lens. In terms of image quality, it doesn’t have the Sony 35mm f1.4 G Master’s character, but it’s still very contrasty and delivers gorgeous colors.<\/p>\n
