The signal is YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit or RGB 8-bit. The body’s screen is a 7.5 cm (3.0-type) TFT with 1,036,800 dots, touch, an opening angle of about 176°, and a rotation of about 270°. Dimensions from grip to monitor are about 114.8×67.5×54.2 mm.

The 59.94p 2160 line needs a 4K list that includes it. Atomos’s Shinobi 7 RX product page lists the monitor at $799 excluding tax and marks it in stock. The same page’s HDMI block is HDMI 2.0, 8/10-bit, 4:2:2, and the 4K UHD line includes 50p, 59.94p, and 60p. The panel is 7 inches, 1920×1200, 16:10, at 2200 nits. The body is 198×133×39 mm and 580 g excluding batteries and antennas. The camera has no SDI port, so the SDI jack is unused on a cable from this body. The wireless receive line on that page is a separate Atomos TX link, up to 4Kp30 or 1080p60, and this camera’s box does not include that transmitter.

The two smaller Shinobi models share a 4K30 ceiling. Shinobi II’s tech-specs page lists a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 panel at 1500 nits, HDMI 1.4, 8/10-bit, YCbCr 4:2:0 and 4:2:2, 4K UHD and DCI through 30p, and 1080p through 60p. The series page lists it at $349, which is $450 under the 7 RX. Shinobi GO’s tech-specs page matches the 5.2-inch 1500-nit panel and the UHD-through-30p list, and it says there is no DCI 4K support. The series page and Atomos’s March 2, 2025 announcement list it at $249, which is $100 under the II. This monitor’s 4K UHD list includes 59.94p, and the input is specified as 4:2:2 at 8 or 10 bits. The panel is 7 inches and 2200 nits, against the camera’s 3.0-inch, 1,036,800-dot screen. The camera end of the cable is still micro-HDMI. The monitor end is full-size HDMI. The product page also describes USB-C camera control for supported Sony bodies and says to check a compatibility list. That list is not matched to the ZV-E10 II here, so record start from the monitor is not claimed.

Buy it when the HDMI output will stay on 2160p at 59.94 or 50. The $799 figure includes a wireless receiver. A direct cable from this camera uses the HDMI input, not that receiver, and the camera has no SDI port. Skip it when you will set the camera to 2160p at 29.97 or below, or to 1080p: the Shinobi II does those rates for $450 less, on a 5.2-inch 1500-nit panel. The monitor is 198 mm wide. The camera’s grip-to-monitor width is about 114.8 mm, so the panel is wider than the body.

Check Price on Amazon US, UK, CA, DE → Check Price on B&H

💎 Best Value

Atomos Shinobi II View on Amazon View on B&H

Best For: 2160p at 30p or below, or 1080p through 60p

Key Feature: 5.2-inch · 1500 nits · HDMI 1.4 · $349

Rating: 4.6 / 5.0 ★★★★☆

Screen

5.2-inch, 1920×1080, 1500 nits, 10-bit (8+2 FRC), on the tech-specs page. It does not accept 2160p at 59.94 or 50, which is the same ceiling as the Shinobi II. The difference is the price and the missing DCI 4K line. Sony’s HDMI list for this body is UHD 3840×2160, not DCI 4096×2160, so the missing DCI line does not remove a mode this camera prints. A sun hood is a separate purchase on Atomos’s series page for both 1500-nit models.

Check Price on Amazon US, UK, CA, DE → Check Price on B&H

If You Need Something Else

A monitor whose 4K HDMI list stops at 30p cannot take this camera’s 3840×2160 59.94p or 50p lines. The two smaller Shinobi models are already that case. Setting the camera’s HDMI output to 1920×1080 at 59.94p or 50p puts the picture inside their 1080p lists. The camera’s 1080p HDMI line does not include 29.97p or 25p. It lists 59.94p, 50p, and 23.98p, plus 59.94i and 50i. The cable at the camera is Type-D. All three monitors here take a full-size HDMI plug. The 7 RX product page’s wireless line is a receive path from an Atomos TX, capped there at 4Kp30 or 1080p60. That path is not the camera’s HDMI cable, and this body does not ship with that transmitter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why the HDMI plug is Type-D

Sony’s ZV-E10M2 specifications page calls the HDMI output an HDMI micro connector, Type-D. The help guide calls it an HDMI type D micro jack. The monitors in this list use a full-size HDMI input, so the cable is micro at the camera and full-size at the monitor.

What Sony lists on that port

3840×2160 at 59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 25p, and 23.98p. 1920×1080 at 59.94p, 50p, and 23.98p. 1920×1080 at 59.94i and 50i. The sampling line is YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit or RGB 8-bit. This is a picture output. The specifications page used here does not call it a RAW stream. The 1080p HDMI line does not include 100p or 120p.

Where 2160p at 59.94p drops off

The Shinobi 7 RX product page lists 4K UHD at 59.94p and 50p, over HDMI 2.0, in 4:2:2. Shinobi II and Shinobi GO list 4K UHD only through 30p. Their 1080p lists do include 59.94p and 50p. A 4K 59.94p picture from this camera is the 7 RX list.

Whether these monitors run the camera

The 7 RX product page says USB-C camera control covers supported Sony bodies and points to a compatibility list. The Shinobi II page describes camera control for compatible cameras. The Shinobi GO announcement says that model does not include it. None of the pages used here names the ZV-E10 II. Record start from the monitor is not claimed.

What the body screen still shows

The LCD stays a 7.5 cm (3.0-type) touch TFT with 1,036,800 dots. Sony lists an opening angle of about 176° and a rotation of about 270°. The external monitor is a second panel. It does not replace those two angles, and this guide has no measurement for how the vari-angle screen sits next to a monitor on the same rig.

Final Verdict

      🏆 Best Overall:

Atomos Shinobi 7 RX – 7-inch, 1920×1200, 2200 nits, HDMI 2.0 4K UHD including 59.94p in 4:2:2, $799 ex tax.

      Buy Now

      💎 Best Value:

Atomos Shinobi II – 5.2-inch, 1500 nits, 4K through 30p and 1080p through 60p, $349.

      Buy Now

      💰 Budget Pick:

Atomos Shinobi GO – the same 4K30 ceiling at $249, without DCI 4K and without camera control.

      Buy Now

The Atomos Shinobi 7 RX is the current monitor whose published HDMI list includes 4K UHD at 59.94p in 4:2:2, which is the top line on the ZV-E10 II’s Type-D port, on a 7-inch 1920×1200 2200-nit screen at $799 excluding tax.
