Finding a wide-angle lens for the Sigma fp often leads to the same frustration: balancing the camera’s ultra-compact, pocketable design with the sheer size and weight of modern L-mount glass. After months of field-testing various focal lengths on the fp’s unique sensor, I’ve found that the Sigma 17mm F4 DG DN Contemporary stands out as…
Finding a lens that balances the compact, industrial aesthetic of the Sigma fp with the optical resolving power required for high-end stills is a common struggle. The camera’s unique L-mount ecosystem offers plenty of glass, but size and weight often contradict the “pocketable full-frame” philosophy that makes the fp so special. To cut through the…
The Sigma fp is a marvel of miniaturization, but its tiny form factor often feels unbalanced when paired with bulky, standard mirrorless glass. You’re likely struggling to find lenses that maintain the camera’s pocketable philosophy without compromising on the optical pedigree required by its full-frame sensor. Over the past six months, I have put a…
Finding a compact, balanced telephoto lens for the Sigma fp is a constant struggle for L-mount shooters who value the camera’s pocketable cinema form factor. Because the fp body lacks internal stabilization, pairing it with heavy, front-heavy glass often defeats the purpose of such a portable system. In my testing, I prioritized lenses that maintain…
Owning a Sigma camera, particularly the modular fp series or the high-resolution sd Quattro, often feels like a balancing act between cutting-edge optics and unique ergonomics. The compact nature of the Sigma fp L, when paired with a heavy 35mm f/1.2 Art lens, creates a front-heavy setup that punishes your neck with standard factory straps….
The Sigma fp is a masterpiece of modular design, but its “naked” form factor presents real challenges for serious videographers. Without a grip or mounting points, handling 12-bit CinemaDNG workflows becomes a cable-management nightmare. I’ve spent months rigging this tiny full-frame beast, and I’ve found that the right cage doesn’t just add protection—it transforms the…
