Why it fits the HERO13 Black. SmallRig’s 3084C sheet is a full cage for this camera: press-on lock, screens and the USB-C port left clear, battery access from the side plate. Two cold shoes take a microphone or a light, and the sheet says the hollow cold shoe does not block GPS. That matters on HERO13, which GoPro ships with GPS and data overlay. The bottom mount is listed as compatible with the HERO13 ND filter kit, Ultra Wide Lens Mod, Macro Lens Mod, and Contacto power door. At 90 g ±5 g it adds less than the camera’s own 157 g.
Buy it for mounts on dry ground. Skip it as a dive case. The sheet says to dry metal parts after liquid contact so they do not corrode. It also does not change the 33 ft rating of the camera.

Why it fits the HERO13 Black. GoPro describes a replaceable hydrophobic cover that protects the interior lens and sheds water, with a flat profile so underwater shots are not bent by a curved cover. HERO13 auto-detects HB-series lenses, and this replacement is keyed for that detection. It is the official spare for the cover the camera already uses. It does not wrap the screens or the corners of the new body.
Buy it when the front glass is scratched. Skip it when the screens, the corners, or a 60 m dive are the problem. Those need the cage, Casey, or the housing.

This is the dive case. GoPro rates it to 196 ft and says the HERO13 body still fits the HERO12 protective housing. The skeleton backdoor is the audio path and the way to reach the touch screen. GoPro’s HERO13 page says waterproof to 33 ft. The manual narrows that to 33 ft (10 m) with the door locked. The Protective Housing page is a different product, rated to 196 ft (60 m), and it lists HERO13 Black among four cameras. The naked rating does not become the housing rating.
Whether Casey is a dive housing
No. GoPro calls it a semi-rigid, weather-resistant carry case, 22.5×16×9.5 cm, 1.8 L, with a pouch for batteries and cards. The 196 ft figure belongs to the Protective Housing.
Why the cage mentions GPS
SmallRig’s 3084C sheet says the hollow cold shoe does not block GPS. HERO13 is the body GoPro describes with GPS and data overlay. The cage is 83.4×64.8×33.5 mm and 90 g ±5 g, and it is not waterproof.
What the replacement lens cover changes
AECOV-001 is Corning Gorilla Glass with a hydrophobic coating, flat so it does not distort underwater, and keyed so HERO13 can auto-detect it. It replaces the front cover. It does not cover the screens or add depth.
