Best ND Filters for DJI Osmo Pocket 3
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is a 1-inch CMOS on a 3-axis gimbal with a locked f/2.0, 20 mm-equivalent lens and ISO 50 as the floor. Video shutter runs from 1/8000 down to the frame-rate limit; the body cannot stop down, so in daylight it just shortens the shutter until 4K/30 looks like a slideshow. Creator Combo adds a 108° wide-angle, a Battery Handle, and a Mic 2 — not ND. DJI’s own Magnetic ND set is only ND16 / ND64 / ND256. The 2026 daylight kit that actually covers 24/30/60 fps without jumping four stops is the Freewell All Day 8-Pack for Osmo Pocket 3. It is not a 14-filter Mega circus, and it is not a variable ND hanging off a 179 g gimbal.

Street prices move. ND16 is four stops, ND32 five, ND64 six, ND256 eight. DJI jumped 16→64→256 and never put a filter in Creator Combo. Freewell’s All Day 8-pack (retailer box: ND8 / ND16 / ND32 / CPL / ND8/PL / ND16/PL / ND32/PL / ND64/PL) is the set that still has ND32. None of these sit on the official wide-angle. Do not stack.
How We Picked These Filters
- What DJI published: Osmo Pocket 3: 1-inch CMOS, 20 mm equivalent, f/2.0, focus 0.2 m–∞. Weight 179 g. 3-axis gimbal, angular vibration ±0.005°. ISO photo/video 50–6400 (low-light video to 16000). Electronic shutter: photo 1/8000–1 s; video 1/8000 to the frame-rate limit. Normal video 4K 3840×2160 at 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps; 4K/120 is Slow Motion only. Max video bitrate 130 Mbps. D-Log M and 10-bit are on the product sheet. No internal storage. Magnetic ND Filters Set (CP.OS.00000305.01): ND16, ND64, ND256, case; 22.10 × 15.89 × 2.5 mm; 1.62 g; DJI store also lists Osmo Pocket 4. Official Black Mist is a separate SKU. Creator Combo (CP.OS.00000302.01) is camera + Battery Handle + Mic 2 + wide-angle (108°) + mini tripod — not ND.
- Why ND is not optional on f/2.0: Aperture does not move. ISO 50 is the floor. In sun the camera keeps the picture legal by raising shutter toward 1/8000, which kills motion blur at 24/30/60. The 180-degree rule is shutter ≈ 1/(2×fps): 1/48 at 24, 1/60 at 30, 1/120 at 60, 1/240 at 120. That is ND, not a “cinematic” picture profile. D-Log M will show a green/magenta cheap-filter cast. 4K/120 does not unlock a different mount.
- The magnet and the SKUs: The stock lens is a magnetic face. PolarPro’s Pocket 3 FAQ: filters are not compatible with DJI’s wide-angle; they are not stackable. Freewell All Day 8-pack (Wex box for the Pocket 3 kit): ND8, ND16, ND32, CPL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, ND64/PL, case, cloth — not the Mega 14 and not ND2000. DJI’s three-filter set is the only first-party ND and the only one with a printed 1.62 g / ND256. K&F Nano-Xcel SKU.2092-class: ND8/PL + ND16/PL + ND32/PL + ND64/PL, 28-layer, Japanese AGC glass. PolarPro Vivid: ND8/PL, ND32/PL, ND128/PL, CinemaSeries glass. NEEWER’s current 14-pack adds ND1000, mist, and LPR — that is a drawer, not a default. Variable ND and screw rings are the skip.
Best ND Filters for DJI Osmo Pocket 3: Detailed Reviews
Freewell All Day 8-Pack View on Amazon View on B&H
| Kit | Freewell All Day 8-Pack for Osmo Pocket 3 (retailers also label Pocket 3/4). Confirm eight filters, not Mega 12/14. |
|---|---|
| In the Wex box | ND8, ND16, ND32, CPL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, ND64/PL, case, cloth. No standalone ND64; ND64 arrives as ND64/PL. |
| On Pocket 3 | ND32 is the mid-day 30 fps stop DJI omitted. CPL / ND/PL for water and glass. Stock lens only. |
| Not in this kit | ND256 (buy DJI). Snow Mist / LPR / ND1000 (Mega). A front magnet for the 108° wide-angle. |
Why it fits the Pocket 3. f/2.0 plus ISO 50 means you live in ND, not in Auto. All Day is the set that still has ND8 (overcast / golden hour), ND16 (DJI’s first stop), and ND32 (the one official skipped). The four ND/PL rings are the glare version of the same stops — one magnet, not a stack. Snap on after the 3-axis finishes calibrating. Park the head once with the thickest ring in this kit; if it kisses the housing, pull it before you pocket the camera. Coatings are the reason this is Overall instead of a $30 four-pack when you are grading D-Log M. 4K/60 wants ~1/120 — ND64/PL is the bright-day ring in this box.
Skip this if you only want three official densities and an 8-stop — DJI set. Skip Mega as the default. Skip it on the wide-angle lens.
- ND32 exists in the box
- CPL and ND/PL without a second brand
- Magnetic, stock-lens, gimbal-weight class
- No ND256 for snow / 1 s stills
- Does nothing on DJI’s wide-angle

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Magnetic ND Filter Set View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU | CP.OS.00000305.01. DJI store: Osmo Pocket 3 Magnetic ND Filter Set. Also listed for Osmo Pocket 4. |
|---|---|
| In the box | ND16 ×1, ND64 ×1, ND256 ×1, magnetic case. No ND8, no ND32, no CPL. |
| DJI sheet | 22.10 × 15.89 × 2.5 mm · 1.62 g |
| Stops | ND16 = 4 · ND64 = 6 · ND256 = 8. The gap is ND32 (5 stops). |
Why it is Value, not Overall. This is the filter DJI designed for the magnet and the park position. Street is often under Freewell. ND256 is the reason to own it even if All Day is in the bag: 8 stops for snow, beach noon, or a 1-second still (DJI’s photo shutter goes to 1 s). It is not Overall because the jump 16→64 leaves 30 fps mid-day without a 5-stop ring, and there is no polarizer. Creator Combo owners still buy this — the combo is wide-angle + handle + mic. Black Mist is a different official filter. Same stock-lens rule: the 108° wide-angle does not take this magnet.
Skip this if you need ND32 and a CPL in one purchase — Freewell. Skip a “DJI-style” no-name 3-pack with no CP.OS number.
- Printed 1.62 g / 2.5 mm OEM
- ND256 for the days All Day runs out
- Usually cheaper than an 8-pack
- No ND8 or ND32
- No CPL

K&F Concept ND/PL 4-Pack View on Amazon View on B&H
| SKU | K&F Nano-Xcel Pocket 3: ND8/PL + ND16/PL + ND32/PL + ND64/PL (SKU.2092 class). 28-layer, AGC glass. |
|---|---|
| Stops | 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 plus polarization in the same glass. No ND256. |
| On Pocket 3 | Magnetic, stock lens. Rotate the PL if the ring allows; a fixed ND/PL is still one magnet. |
| SKU trap | K&F “creative” kits that swap ND for anamorphic / macro / 1.2× wide. Variable ND2–32. Pocket 2 glass. |
Why it is Budget. Four useful daylight stops, glare built in, 28-layer coating on a named series — not a 14-filter drawer. You give up Freewell’s standalone ND8/16/32 and CPL, and you give up DJI’s ND256. For a vacation 4K/30 walk you are inside ND8/PL–ND64/PL. White-balance a gray card once in D-Log M; cheap hybrids can run warm. Confirm the listing photo is four slim magnets for Pocket 3, not a 37 mm screw kit.
Skip this if you want a separate CPL and clean ND — Freewell. Skip if noon snow is the job — DJI ND256.
- ND32/PL exists (DJI’s hole)
- 28-layer hybrids at Budget money
- No 8-stop
- No separate CPL / clean ND

If You Need Something Else
These two are not cheaper versions of the Top 3. One is PolarPro’s three-density CinemaSeries kit. One is the NEEWER pile the old page sold as Budget.
PolarPro Vivid Collection View on Amazon View on B&H
| In the box | ND8/PL, ND32/PL, ND128/PL, case. PolarPro’s own page: CinemaSeries glass, aluminum frame. Current line is also labeled Pocket 3/4. |
|---|---|
| PolarPro FAQ | Magnetic. Not stackable. Not compatible with DJI’s wide-angle. Not for Osmo Action. |
| When it wins | You want German CinemaSeries ND/PL and will live in three densities, not eight rings |
Vivid is the old page’s Premium, correctly this time: hybrids, not a fake “I shot commercial b-roll” story. ND128/PL is 7 stops — between Freewell’s ND64/PL and DJI’s ND256. PolarPro also sells a Shutter Collection (ND8 / ND32 / ND128, no PL) if you do not want polarization. Do not stack Vivid on All Day. Do not put it on the 108° wide-angle.
Skip this if you want ND16 and ND64 in the same case — DJI or Freewell. This remains Layer 2, not Overall.

NEEWER 14-Pack Magnetic Set View on Amazon View on B&H
| Why it shows up | The April 2026 page called a generic NEEWER set Budget. Current NEEWER FL-P10-class 14-packs add ND8–1000, four ND/PL, CPL, mist, LPR. |
|---|---|
| On Pocket 3 | Magnets will fit the stock lens. Fourteen rings is not a pairing. ND1000 / mist / LPR are Mega-kit extras, not a 180-degree kit. |
| If you still want NEEWER | A 4- or 6-filter ND16/32/64 (+ CPL) listing, not the 14-pack. Then K&F is still the cleaner Budget SKU. |
Same skip: Freewell Mega as the first purchase, SmallRig variable ND2–32 as the only filter, 37 mm step-up cages, Pocket 2 ND, and treating the official Black Mist as an ND. If a NEEWER 6-pack (ND16/32/64/256 + CPL + UV) is all that is in stock, it is a backup, not this page’s Budget pick.
Skip this if you are buying one kit. Buy Freewell All Day, DJI Magnetic ND, or K&F ND/PL 4-Pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ND the Pocket 3 actually needs
Aperture is f/2.0. ISO 50 is the floor. Video shutter is 1/8000 to the fps limit. For 180-degree motion: ~1/48 at 24 fps, 1/60 at 30, 1/120 at 60, 1/240 at 120 (Slow Motion). ND16 is 4 stops, ND32 is 5, ND64 is 6, ND256 is 8. DJI’s official set skips ND32. Freewell All Day still has it. 4K/120 does not change the magnet.
Creator Combo already has filters
No. Creator Combo is Pocket 3, Battery Handle, Mic 2, 108° wide-angle, mini tripod, pouch. ND is CP.OS.00000305.01, sold separately. The wide-angle has no magnetic front — PolarPro: Pocket 3 filters are not compatible with that lens and are not stackable.
Will a filter overload the gimbal
DJI’s own rings are 1.62 g and 2.5 mm. Reputable magnetic Pocket 3 kits are built to that class. A variable ND, a stacked pair, or a 37 mm cage is how you get a motor complaint. Seat the magnet after the gimbal calibrates. If the head cannot park, the filter is too thick — remove it before you close the camera.
ND vs ND/PL vs CPL
ND only cuts light. CPL cuts glare on water and glass and can look like extra density. ND/PL is both in one ring — PolarPro Vivid and K&F’s 4-pack are this. Do not stack a CPL on an ND on this mount. All Day gives you clean ND and ND/PL so you are not forced to polarize every shot.
Final Verdict
For most DJI Osmo Pocket 3 kits, buy the Freewell All Day 8-Pack, snap it on the stock 20 mm after calibration, and set shutter to about 2× the frame rate. f/2.0 does not stop down. Creator Combo did not ship ND. Want OEM plus ND256? DJI Magnetic ND set. Want four hybrids? K&F ND/PL. PolarPro Vivid is the CinemaSeries layer. Skip Mega/NEEWER 14-packs, skip the wide-angle magnet myth, skip variable ND. This page is Pocket 3, not Pocket 2.
