According to recently rumors from CR, Canon currently is working on a new super telephoto lens that is slower than f/4.
Source hasn’t confirmed the lens of exact focal length, speed or even if it was going to be a L lens. The price of this lens is “affordable”, and will be released some time in 2016.
Currently, Sigma and Tamron both has their super telephoto zoom lenses: Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 and Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3, both lenses are very great lenses with an affordable price.
