Canon 75MP DSLR to have a Three-Layer Sensor

Canon EOS 1D Xs

The rumored Canon 75+ MP Pro DSLR now got more detail, Northlight image told that this 75MP sensor is actually contain a stacked sensor that uses three sensor layers in red, green, and blue in order to capture greater amounts of color information in each shot. Just like Sigma’s Foveon X3 sensors.

In an interesting twist on the ’75MP’ 1 series, we’re told (thanks) that the 75MP is a ‘total usable photosite’ count and refers to a non Bayer multilayer sensor that is similar to that which appeared in a Canon patent back in May. This has blue/green/red layers.
