DJI has officially announced the new Phantom 3 in two versions: the Professional, capable of 4K video, and the Advanced, which shoots 1080p. Both capture 12MP stills thanks to a 1/2.3″ Sony EXMOR sensor and offer an f/2.8 lens with a 20mm equiv. angle of view. A 3-axis gimbal keeps the camera unit steady in flight.

Canon today has announced the new EOS C300 Mark II Cinema EOS camera. It replaced the EOS C300, with a US price around $16,000. C300 Mark II has a claimed 15 stops of dynamic range – greater than the original C300 and the competing Sony FS7.

Canon has finally announced the previously leaked 4K fixed lens camcorder. The Canon XC10 features a 1-inch sensor with 12MP and capable of capturing 4K video using Canon’s new XF-AVC format. The XC10 features a 27.3-273mm lens (35mm equivalent) for a 10x zoom range and a variable aperture from f/2.8-5.6. The XC10 is designed as simple way to get professional quality 4K video – a companion model to a Cinema EOS camera. It is relatively compact and despite weighing just over a kilo it still manages to pack a 10x zoom lens and five-axis image stabilisation.
